Common Questions About Giving

Q: What amount do people normally give to Cru?

A: People generally give on a monthly basis, but there is quite a range of amounts: from $25 monthly to $1000 monthly. The average is $100 monthly.

Q: What if I have to stop giving at some point?

A: Your giving is always between you and the Lord; there is no contract with Campus Crusade.

Q: Does the money go directly to you?

A: No, all funds are tax deductible and sent to Cru. There is a staff account “Steve & Sarah Pogue 0103420” where funds are deposited. Crutsinger supervises these funds — our salary is set according to the size of our family and the number of years served with our ministry; remaining funds are used for ongoing ministry expenses (literature, travel, computers, etc.).

Q: What if you don’t raise enough money? Do you still get paid by Campus Crusade?

A: No, we are only paid if funds are available in our staff account. Your giving makes our ministry possible!

Q: Do you send out a monthly reminder in case I forget to send in funds?

A: No — There is no monthly billing if you pay by check.
Instead, many donors now give by electronic fund transfer (EFT) each month out of their checking account. It saves you from having to remember to write checks. (It’s the way we use for our own giving to others.) You can change or cancel your EFT giving at any time.

Q: How can I start online giving?
Cru creates an account with security verification — we want to protect your financial information, as well as deter any thieves.
